QMed Knowledge Foundation, through the effective use of Information Technology, empowers medical information users to retrieve evidence based information, evaluate the same for local applicability and help improve health outcomes. So far, it has benefited 3000 health professionals and 10 institutions.

Vasumathi was working as a medical librarian and observed that the professionals were unable to adequately exploit the new information resources. As she began helping doctors and other health professionals, and receiving good feedback for the same, she was inspired to reach out to a larger group.
